FAQ

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser with pdf.js and pdf-lib. Your files never leave your device.
How small will my PDF get?
It depends on the original. Scanned or image-heavy PDFs often shrink 70-90% on the Smallest preset. Text-only PDFs are already small, so savings are modest — the tool will tell you if the result is barely smaller.
Will my text stay selectable?
No. To reach the smallest size, pages are rebuilt as compressed images, so text is no longer selectable or searchable. Keep your original if you need to copy text.
Which preset should I choose?
Smallest size for sharing by email or chat, Balanced for everyday use, High quality when readability matters most. Lower the quality slider further if you need even smaller files.
Is there a size or page limit?
Yes: 50 MB per file and up to 200 pages. Large documents can be slow on phones — split them and compress in smaller batches if needed.
