How to use
- Pick a nickname and a random 4-word room phrase.
- Share the 4 words with the other device — by voice, chat, or note.
- Both sides type the same 4 words and click Join room. Peers appear automatically.
- Pick a file and send — it streams directly peer-to-peer, then download on the other side.
FAQ
- Where do my files go?
- Straight to the other device. Files travel directly over an encrypted WebRTC connection between browsers in the same 4-word room. TinyTools has no server receiving files — nothing is stored, cached, or logged.
- What do I share to connect?
- Just 4 short words, like "apple river sunny tiger". Everyone who types the same 4 words joins the same room and connects automatically — no long codes to copy. A public relay only exchanges the connection handshake; your files never pass through it.
- Is this private?
- File bytes are end-to-end encrypted between browsers. Trade-off: the public signaling relay can see room presence and IP addresses while connecting, and anyone who guesses your 4 words can join. Use a fresh random phrase per share and leave the room when done.
- What if nobody connects?
- Both sides must type exactly the same 4 words and keep the tab open. Strict corporate or symmetric NATs can still block direct connections. Try again, switch networks, or move both devices to the same Wi-Fi.
- Is there a file size limit?
- Files stream peer-to-peer with live progress, but the receiver holds each file in memory until download — so stay under a few hundred MB for reliability. Very large files may fail on low-memory phones.
