FAQ
- Is my spreadsheet uploaded anywhere?
- No. The .xlsx file is unzipped and converted entirely in your browser. Nothing ever leaves your device.
- Which Excel files are supported?
- Modern .xlsx workbooks only (Excel 2007 and later). Legacy .xls files use a different binary format — re-save them as .xlsx in Excel first, then convert.
- How are multiple worksheets handled?
- By default every worksheet with data becomes its own .csv file, named after the sheet. You can also pick a single sheet before converting.
- How are dates and special characters handled?
- Date-formatted cells are exported as YYYY-MM-DD (with HH:MM when the format includes time). Fields containing the delimiter, quotes, or line breaks are quoted per RFC 4180. Tick "Excel-friendly BOM" if accented characters look wrong when opening the CSV in Excel.
