FAQ
- Is my QR image uploaded anywhere?
- No. The image is read and decoded entirely in your browser. Nothing ever leaves your device.
- Which image files are supported?
- PNG, JPG, and WebP images up to 20 MB. Screenshots and phone photos work as long as the whole QR code is visible and reasonably sharp.
- Why was no QR code found?
- The most common causes are a cropped code (the three corner squares must all be visible), heavy blur, glare, or a code that is too small in the frame. Try a sharper photo taken straight-on, or crop closer to the code.
- What do the result labels mean?
- The decoder detects common QR payload types: website links, Wi-Fi credentials, vCard contacts, email, phone, SMS, and bank-transfer (VietQR/EMVCo) codes. Anything else is shown as plain text.
- Can I scan a QR code with my webcam?
- Yes. Click “Start camera scan”, allow camera access, and hold the QR code steady in front of the camera. Frames are scanned locally in your browser and the video never leaves your device.
- Why is the camera blocked or not working?
- Browsers only allow camera access on secure (HTTPS) pages and only with your permission. If access was denied, allow it via the camera icon in the address bar and try again. If no camera is available, upload a QR image instead.
- Is it safe to open a decoded link?
- A QR code can point anywhere, including phishing sites. Check the decoded URL carefully before opening it — look for misspelled domains and unexpected short links.
